Position Description:

Responsibilities:

• Design and Architecture of firm’s infrastructure with latest technologies to keep up with the industry
• Collaborates to develop respective technical domain roadmap 
• Implements road maps with adherence to national technology strategy including best practices 
• Demonstrates deep knowledge of and experience with the Firm's technical infrastructure 
• Demonstrates tactical competencies within a technical domain of the Firm's Infrastructure 
• Contributes to execution plans and executes technical infrastructure projects to upgrade or refresh supported systems 
• Demonstrates high analytical skills   
• Develops documentation including processes and procedures for consistent maintenance and support 
• Develops utilities to automate repetitive tasks to reduce time of support
• Identifies and leverages best practices among Engineering  staff as well as within peer teams 
• Interfaces with various levels or groups within the organization to gain consensus and buy-in from all parties 
• Interacts with customers and/or functional peer group managers
• Demonstrates ability to train on and document technical concepts and procedures and cross trains others on these areas of expertise

Skills Required

• Infrastructure architecture, design and Implementation of VMware vSphere 4.0
• Expertise in building resilient, high performance VMware solution
• Expertise in designing and configuring Virtual Desktop Environment
• Expertise in advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning to optimize VMware environment
• Familiarity in configuring HA and DRS
• Familiarity on access privileges & configuration of users & groups, roles & permissions to manage virtual machines
• Familiarity of networking and experience in configuring standard and distributed virtual switches, port groups and virtual adapters
• Expertise in configuring and performing cold migration, VMotion and storage VMotion & using snapshots
• Familiarity of monitoring tools like BMC Patrol, MS SCOM, HP SIM etc.
• Familiarity with scripting languages – Shell, Perl etc.
• Understands and operates within agreed SLAs
